DARING BURGLARY
SLEEPERS ROBBED INTRUDER IN FLAT (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. "While Mr. Harris, of Cashel Street, and his wife were sleeping an intruder entered the bedroom and took away Mr. Harris’s trousers. Altogether about £2O worth of goods was taken. The burglar apparently visited every part of the flat. It is thought the burglar must have known the premises, and that it was this knowledge that enabled him to work so quietly in the dark. The goods stolen consisted of clothing, and included a new overcoat, the property of Mr. Harris, and the coat and waistcoat of a new suit, the property of his brother-in-law. Mrs. Harris also lost a bag which contained her purse. Besides articles of clothing the intruder secured £5 in cash. Mr. Harris also lost a number of papers and his bankbook which were in the pockets of clothing the thief took.
