PUBLIC SCHOOLBOY WEDS

FIRST IN TARANAKI SOAFIELD—WELLS Of the 200 English Public Schoolboys brought out to New Zealand by the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, the first to be married in this country is Mr. Howard Soafield, whose wedding to Miss Clarice Wells was celebrated at New Plymouth on Wednesday. To mark the occasion, Mr. S. F. Burgess, president of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, made a small presentation to the young couple on behalf of the Immigration Committee, saying that they felt it only right to mark the fact that of all the boys who had come to Taranaki, Mr. Soafield was the first to be married. Mr. and Mrs. Soafield will make their home in Hamilton.
