PRINCESS AND TIVOLI

“THE WHOLE TOWNS TALKING” “The Whole Town’s Talking-, ’’ the Edward Laemmle production of the John Emerson-Anita Loos stage comedy, now at the Princess and Tivoli Theatres has certainly ' made a deep impression on local motion picture patrons. The plot is simple, the characters f&w but perfectly played. The subtle touch of artistry is seen throughout. Edward Everett Horton, Virginia Lee Corbin, Otis Harlan and Trixie Friganza have the four principal roles. To them and to Laemmle goes the credit for a perfectly presented comedy full of fine acting and good direction. The acting is not the vigorous hand-and-chest type but is the more delicate and more amusing type which depends on the raising of an eye, the moving of a hand the turning of a head for its 1 laughs. This is the most difficult sort of picture to direct yet is, without doubt, the most interesting to watch. The picture was made solely for comedy purposes and has achieved its end with a rare finesse. Others in the cast who do notable work are Dolores del Rio, Margaret Quimby, Robert Ober, Aileen Manning, Hayden Stevenson, and Malcolm Waite.
