“THE CAPPING SHOW”
AT TOWN HALL The “Copping Ceremony” to be held at the Town Hall to-morrow night by the students of the Auckland University College promises to be a great success. A determined effort on the part of the students to avoid any unruly disturbance is to be made, and intending patrons are assured of a good night’s entertainment. Not only have the students entered into the spirit of the thing, hut several prominent citizens are taking an interest in the ceremony. Each graduate will be congratulated on his success. There will be community singing led by the Rev. Jasper Calder, in which the following items will be included: “Bye, Bye, Blackbird,” “Hi Ho the Merry O,” “I’ll Climb the Highest Mountain,” “Babyface” and “Little Brown Jug.” A unique feature of the show will be the University prize-giving, at which Miss A.U.C. will receive congratulations as the successful entrant in THE SUN’S film star competition. Several l*>cal public men will be the reciipents of humorous degrees. The programme will close with a burlesque physical drill display. The admission charge is one shilling and the proceeds are to so to the Rev. Jasper Calder’s relief fund.
