STIFF PENALTY FOR CAR-SNATCHERS
THE ONLY WAY (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. “Probation in cases of car-conver-sion has not tended to diminish the offence. Offenders have increased. The only thing is a stiff penalty,” said Mr. W. G. Riddell, in adding 14 days in gaol to John Hobert Rae, aged 24, who had already been locked up for seven days on remand for unlawful conversion.
