A LONG TIME BUILDING. —After being building practically ever since the war the 30.000-ton Holland Amedcan hner btatendam has been trailslerred to the allied Red Star Line and will run on their express service between Antwerp and New York The fatatendam was laid down at Harhnd and Wolff's yard at Belfast to replace a, ship of the same name which was launched just before the war, and ins completed by the British Admiralty Vs the transport Justice. FOR THE AUSTRALIAN SERVICE —According to officers on the GermanAustralian Line motor-ship Magdeburg, which arrived at Sydney recently, four new vessels are now building for the Australian service. Two of the new vessels will be motor-ships and the other two will be fitted with 1 turbines. They will have passenger accommodation for 30 or 40 passengers, and will be specially built for i the wool trade. It is expected that the first will be in Australian waters within six months. The Dutch company, the Rotterdam 1 Lloyd, is also building new ships for \ the Holland-Australia service. Offi- \ cers on the steamer Tapanoeli, on her \ maiden voyage to Australian ports. 1 said that their company was constructing four new motor-ships of about J 6,500 tons gross register, and with ac- ; commodation for 40 passengers. These J vessels would also be seen in Australian ports shortly. s
