THREE YEARS RAINLESS
QUEENSLAND DROUGHT
MILLIONS OF SHEEP DEAD By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright . BRISBANE, Friday. Central and Western Queensland are in the grip of droughts which, it is said, will be the most severe in the history of the state. The drought in some places has entered upon its third year. There is little hope of amelioration before November or December, when monsoonal rains may fall. The areas involved comprise the greater part of Queensland’s sheepraising country.
Millions of sheep are being hand-fed and millions have died.—A. and N.Z.
