Hectio League Game.—There was skin and hair flying in Sydney last Saturday week in the League Rugby match between St. George and Newtown, says Claude Corbett in the “Sydney Sun.” ‘ St. George beat Newtown at the Cricket Ground yesterday by 23 points to 5 in what was easily the worst exhibition of first grade football seen at the famous ground for many years. One player, Bull, of Newtown, was sent oft the field. A number of others should have been with him, both before and after he received his marching orders. The pity of it was that over 10,000 people saw the match—lo.3l4 was the official return of the attendance.” Hamilton Rugby.—An unblemished record so far is possessed by the Marist Old Boys junior Rugby football team in the Hamilton competitions, and not a single point has been registered against the team this year, which has S 4 points to its credit. Of the total P. Clarkin has contributed 39 with his goal-kicking. The team has played five matches and won all comfortably. It looks almost certain to be elevated to senior grade next year.
