SHOTS FIRED
CLASH AT MINSK FURTHER DANGEROUS INCIDENT LONDON, Thursday.
The Riga correspondent of “The X' mes” reports that relations between
Russia and Poland have been further complicated by an incident near Minsk, in Western Russia. A White Russian rescue party attacked a posse of agents of the Cheka (Russian secret police), who were in a motor-car, and liberated their prisoner, a Polish intellligence officer. Lieutenant Jani. The latter had been capture/! near the frontier. He was suspegted of espionage. A brisk fight occurred. As a result, Opansky, the the local Cheka troops, and the driver of the car w r ere killed.—“ Times.”
