MINING NEWS

ALBURN I A.—Several lumps of picked i stone from the stopes above the intermediate level are on view at the Alburnia Company’s office. They were obtained on Wednesday from quartz dislodged by a shot fired in the north-east end of the stope, at a point about 17ft. from the place where the last-reported gold was found. The lumps show coarser gold than any previously found in the present workings. The manager informs the directors that about two days’ dead work will be necessary before there can jbe another breaking-down in the same locality*
