Fire at Waiuku

NOTHING SAVED EARLY MORNING BLAZE A five-roomed house in Hull’s Road, Waiuku, owned and occupied by Mr. D. Yelbrith and family, was totally destroyed by fire about 1.30 a.m. this morning. Mr. Yelbrith was absent in Pukekohe at the time, and only his wife and two children were at home.' The elder son woke his mother at about 1.40 a.m., when the house was already in flames. The occupants escaped in their night attire. Nothing was saved from the fire, the cause of which is unknown. The house is insured in the Alliance Office for £ 500. It is not known if there is any policy on the furniture.
