WOMEN’S CLUB AT AVONDALE SOUTH
The Avondale South Women’s Club
held its usual meeting at the Missicy.i Hall on June 7. The president, Mrs. J. W. Kealy, presided. Miss E. M. Newton delivered J#.er usual monthly report from the Naticjjal Council of Women, and spoke at scvme length on the New Zealand-Made P reference League. The president introduced Major ' Gordon. who delivered an address oa i her work. The major made a speci a/, plea to mothers to make home life /nappy and thus endeavour to keep young people at home. A hearty vote of thanks tMajor Gordon was unanimously acclr timed. Tea served by Mesdames .'L. Wood and E. J. Rudd closed a very pleasant afternoon.
