“THE MAN UPSTAIRS” The Strand Theatre will feature ‘•The Man Upstairs,” a Warner Bros.’ classic of the screen, released by. Master Pictures, to-morrow. Monte Blue, popular film star, plays Geoffrey West, alone in London and in search of romance. Dorothy Devore plays Lilian Larnard, in search of adventure. Through the medium of the “agony” or “personal” column of the daily newspaper, the two young people beoome -acquainted. To gratify her love of excitement, West writes her a series of letters describing a mysterious murder which is purely imaginative. She decides to turn the joke on him and hands his letters to the police, and he is sent to prison for a murder which took place only in his imagination. When Lilian decides that he has had enough thrills out of prison, she reveals the plot and he is begin his romance with her. ' E. T. Lowe, junr., adapted the Earl Derr Biggers story to. the screen .and Roy dDel Ruth directed. The remainder of the cast of “The Man Upstairs” includes Heinie Conklin. John Roche, Helen Dunbar. Eve Southern, Stanley Taylor, Otto Hoffman, Carl Stockdale and Arthur Tlialaso,
