Mr. W. Howard 'Booth, ex-Mayor of Carterton, is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, ex-Mayor of Wellington, arrived in Auckland yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Dr. H. L. Gould travelled South yesterday evening by train. Mr. TV - T. Neill, Surveyor-General of Hew Zealand, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. G. W. Corbridge, of Palmerston North, is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. J. M. Bruce has arrived from Wellington and is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P., is to leave to-morrow evening on a trip to Great Barrier Island. Mr. X F. Mackley, locomotive engineer, Auckland, has resumed his duties after a holiday at Taupo. Mr. T. IT. Wells, who. is to attend a meeting of the Council of Education, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. R. A. Shepherd, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. The Rev. 11. Van Staveren, who completed the 50th year of the ministry as Rabbi of the Jewish community of Wellington, arrived by the Limited this morning and is staying with his daughter. Mrs. Isaacs, 16 Gillies Avenue. Mr.•’Lister Browne, London representative of Fox Films, will leave Auckland for the South Island tomorrow night. After returning to Auckland Mr. Browne will proceed to Sydney to attend the producers’ conference there. Sir Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, M.P., leader of the British motor delegation now visiting Auckland, will visit Rotorua with the other members of his party before visiting Wellington.
