Soaring Rates. —“I am certain that if we don’t join the city our rates must go up. We have come to the end of our tether in increasing valuations.” That was the conclusion of Mr. J. W. Carr, presiding at a meeting of Tamaki ratepayers to consider amalgamation with Auckland City.
