MAN SERIOUSLY HURT CHINESE BREAKS LEG Severe head injuries were received by a middle-aged man who was knocked down by a motor-car in Eden Terrace at 8.20 on Monday night. The authorities can find nothing about him except that his name is Alfred Harris. His condition is reported to be serious. The driver of the car was Mr. E. J. McQuoid, of Titirangi, who is the driver of a Titirangi busWhile unloading manure in Messrs. A. B. W r right’s stables in Great North Road at about 12 o’clock yesterday, a Chinese named Hoi Leong fell from the lorry, and broke his left leg. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where he is reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
