ONEHUNGA AND TRADE
WITHDRAWAL OF SHIPS COMPANY EXPLAINS The Union Steam Ship Company gave the Auckland Harbour Board its reasons yesterday afternoon for not re •uming trading at Onehunga. The principal reason was that the incidence or trade had moved. It was now not necessary to send coal to Onehunga. A considerable portion of the trade for Hamilton, which previously went to Onehunga, now went direct to the Waikato Heads. One member of the board thought that the Union Company had referred to only one of its boats. The position had not changed one atom for some years. The chairman, Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, •aid that the Union Company was quite right in what it said about trade to Onehunga.
