SHIPS FROM ENGLAND
SOUTH ISLAND NEEDS Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The question of direct shipments between West of England ports and South Island of New Zealand occupied the attention of the Council of Canterbury Chamber of Commence last night. The meeting approved of representations being made to the Overseas Shipowners’ Allotment Committee, that equality of treatment be given to all of the main ports of the Dominion in the matter of the first arrivals and final calls of English steamers*
