SHIPS DELAYED
BOISTEROUS WEATHER The strong wind and boisterous weather which prevailed at Auckland yesterday made the sea in the harbour very rough. Conditions on the coast were much worse, and many small coastal vessels were held up. The Wilson Cement Company’s vessel, Ronaki, which left for Warkworth yesterday morning, was forced to put back to port again two hours later. The Kawau was to have left for Mangapai yesterday afternoon, but her departure was postponed till to-day. The sailing of other Northern Company vessels was also affected. The Maunganui, which arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Sydney, was an hour or so late as the resuit of meeting strong easterly head winds after passing the North Cape. The barometer, which read 30.50 in. on Sunday, fell to 30.00 in. last night, and at 9 a.m. to-day registered 29.816
