HEAVIER PENALTY DESIRED A heavier penalty for offenders • gainst the law regarding Sunday trading was asked for by the Auckland Council of Christian Congregations which passed the following resolution on the motion of the Rev. Or. H. Ran>ton: *‘The council, having reason to believe that unlawful Sunday trading is widespread and that children are tempted thereby to untruthfulness and dishonesty, and are in danger of having their moral characters undermined, respectfully urges upon the Minister of Justice the desirability of having the law amended so that a more severe penalty may be inflicted for this offence.”
