FIREBLIGHT
A FARMERS’ PROTEST Press Association PALMERSTON NORTH, To-day. The Manawatu A. and P. Association has decided to organise a deputation to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, protesting against farmers being compelled to eradicate hawthorn hedges to prevent Yhe spread of fireblight, speakers contending that the farmers had enough hardships to contend with without having to go to the expense of destroying hedges.
