CROSSES LINE AGAIN
RENOWN HOMEWARD BOUND MESSAGE ■ FROM NEPTUNE By Cable.—-Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 1 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A wireless message from the Renown says that Whit Monday was notable for recrossing the line, which, however, was not celebrated. According to sea lore, flying fish are the messengers of Neptune, and by coincidence, one arrived on deck at the exact moment the Equator was crossed, but it killed itself against a gun turret, so any message from the monarch remained undelivered. A monsoon continues to make conditions uncomfortable, but the Duke and Duchess of York are well.—A. and N.Z.
