THE “LIPSTICK” GIRL

SPOILT BY HER PARENTS Upon her retirement after 41 years of teaching, Airs. E. S. B. Tait, assis-tant-mistress at the Faunce Street L.C.C. Girls’ School, Kennington, S.E., declared her dissatisfaction at the girl of to-day. “I dislike intensely type of girl who paints, powders, uses lipstick, and can think only of jazzing,” she said in an interview. But it was not altogether the girl’s fault. “She had been badly brought up by modern parents, who have absolutely spoilt her Jay allowing her to have her own way too much.” As for bobbing and shingling, Mrs. Tait approves this for women up to 30 years of age, but women over 30 with bobbed hair “ought to know better.” And when girls get the vote at 21 she is sure they will all vote for the nicest-looking man.
