HOLIDAY SPIRIT ON THE ’CHANGE

LITTLE BUSINESS DONE WAIHI JUNCTION FIRMING A holiday spirit prevailed on the Auckland Stock Exchange this morning, and only one sale was made in the call-room. One broker operating deeply In Waihi Grand Junctions has caused the market for this script to firm, closing to-day at sellers Is 3d, and buyers is Id. W&ihis remain in good tone, with a firming tendency. Alburnias are now ciuiet, on a market at about 4s 3d. The insurance section is firm, with sellers failing to quote, and apparently hard to locate on the present market, for few sales have been registered in spite of values that tend to harden. Gilt-edged securities are in good tone, with firm buyers in most sections. SALES REGISTERED This morning’s business: On the 'Change—Waihi Grand Junction, Is 2d.
