OLD MAN FOUND DEAD

Mr. George Payne, an old-age pensioner about 80 years of age, was found dead in his whare yesterday at about II o’clock by Mr Ambury, of Ambury’s Limited.

Mr. Payne, whe was a weil-known Onehunga identity was seen alive last night. He had not been complaining of any illness of late, and. it is thought that he died in his sleep. As far as is known at present, he has no relations in the Dominion. He has been living by himself for the last six or seven years, in a little whare in Arthur Street.
