A £30,000 GEM

According to the New York “Times,” the Duke of Westminster has sold the famous Nassak diamond—one of the jewels brought to England by Warren Hastings—to a New York jeweller. In 1911 the value of the diamond was estimated at £30,000. The duke’s personal secretary recently told a “Daily Chronicle” representative that he knew nothing about the report sent from New York. The Nassak diamond w r eighs 7S£ carats; it has been cut in the shape of a triangle, and is mounted as a brooch.
