WHAT THE £1 BUYS TO-DAY
(From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. A CCORDING to the latest return of the Government Statistician it now'takes 32s 4£d, on the average, to purchase what could be purchased for 20s in July, 1914. In other words 20s to-day will purchase commodities to the value of 12s 3|d based upon 1914 prices. In September, 1926, the commodity value was 12s 3d and in March last 12s 4d.
