O WOMAN!
“AN ABSOLUTE NUISANCE”
The Wells (Somerset) Bowling Club rejected by a large majority a proposal to admit women members in future. Alderman Reakes declared that the women members they used to have were an absolute nuisarce. He pi*otested against women's encroachment on men’s prerogatives, and asserted that bowls was an immodest game for women.
