Catmints for Heavy Tracks

The progeny of Catmint have become famous as mudlarks, for quite a number of them have scored in very heavy going. Catmint stock engaged to-morrow are: Black Mint, Bennanee, Danae, Lomint, Royal Mint (all in Cornwall Handicap), and Alonsoa and Delightment. Horses got by Merry Moment and Kilboy are also good in bad ground, and these sires each have a single representative, Comical and Killute, respectively. Lucullus also has made a name for himself in this respect. Half-a-dozen are engaged to-morrow: Bahadur, Master Boon, King Lu, Luxurious and Wyoming, and another, Llewellyn, is in the Great Northern Steeplechase. Made a Mistake? It is now said that Scion should have been allowed to start at the Otautau meeting last week. Allowed to Run The committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club held a special meeting last Friday afternoon and decided to sanction the transfer of the engagements of any horses nominated at the winter meeting by any person convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, provided that the purchaser makes a statutory declaration that no person who was convicted of a similar offence has any interest in the horse.
