MT. VICTORIA AND TREE-FELLING

Sir, There seems to be much dissatisfaction among a few Devonport residents over the proposed felling of the old fir trees orf Mount Victoria. I wonder if it has ever entered the heads of these tree-lovers to pity those whose property is situated close under the hill and who, during the winter mornings, never feel the sun till noon, and then only for about half an hour, in consequence of which their premises are damp and cold, owing to the dense belt of firs towering above on the mount. I think it a good move on the part of the new council. It shows some thought for others. A HILLSIDE DWELLER.
