ILL-FATED MOUNTAINEER
PROJECTED MEMORIAL The private interment of Mr. H. A. Holl, the late principal of the University Coaching College and the compiler of a widely-used mathematical text-book, took place yesterday afternoon. Mr. Holl was swept off his fret and drowned while crossing a stream on Mount Ruapehu on Friday. The Rev. Dr. Buxton conducted services both at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and at Hillsborough Cemetery. Only Mr. Holl’s greatest friends were present, the bearers being people for whom he had a personal attachment. Mr. J- A. Bartrum. his companion on his last trip. Professors R. M. Algie and F. P. Worley, and Mr. W. Wilson were present. A memorial tablet in one of Mr. Hull’s favourite camping places is projected should Government sanction be obtained.
