CANTERBURY GALE

(Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Rain yesterday brought to an the long spell of dry weather in Canterbury. Showers fell in the early morning and continued all day. The ground got a fairly good soaking, and much good was done to fields and gardens. A wet southerly gale blew over the city during Monday night.
