CONDITION VERY LOW ACCIDENT ON SHIP VALVES BLOWN UP The Northern Steamship Company’s boat Rarara put in at the Oneliunga wharf this morning to land her third engineer, who had been injured by the explosion of one of the boilers. Henry Ericson, aged 29, of Glen Eden, is the injured man. He was in the engine-room when the valves blew off. striking him. He was badly scalded by the boiling water. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John ambulance.

His condition is reported to be very low.
