Spain aid Portugal at War ON Reds
REPRISALS PLANNED By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright LONDON, Monday. 'T'HE Governments of Spain and 1 Portugal are organising a common front against Bolshevism. It is not generally known that since 1925, 149 persons, of whom 52 were police agents, have died in Lisbon from injuries caused by agitators' bombs and bullets. Desperate groups of the old political regime organised the last out breaks at Oporto and Lisbon. They accepted the co-operation of Bolsheviks. These persons made a point of riddling with bullets houses over which the British flag was displayed. The Russian leaders, Lenin and Trotsky, once had good hopes of revolutions in Spain and Portugal, to which countries they sent their agent, Horodis, in 1920 with encouraging promises, backed by gold. Horodis had little difficulty In founding Communism in the two countries. —-“Times.”
