good things scrambled by the Auckland Club, and to get some of the spoil to tide them over the remaining winter months, will take any risks with their entries. ACT LIKE A MAGNET The programme for June IS and 22 as published in THE SUN and previously reviewed at length in this column, is a most attractive one, and with the suitability of the limits and the enticing stakes on offer, cannot fail to act on owners and trainers like a magnet. Trotters and pacers alike are well catered for and there is no event of less value than 300 sovereigns, six of the fourteen items carded carrying this sum in stakes. One race is endowed with 400 gold boys, and five have reached the £SOO mark, one of these being the Adams Memorial, which is supplemented with a handsome gold cup, the gift of Mrs. L. A. Adams. SOME ENTICING STAKES The two remaining features of this golden illustrated card reach four figures, the President’s Handicap on the opening day and Campbell Handicap on the concluding day, each being valued at 1,000 sovereigns. Needless to say, with such a wealth of attractiveness, owners will keep Secretary Mark and his merry men busy receiving nominations, forfeits and entries for the various events scheduled. It is whispered that when the lists are compiled they will disclose a winter meeting record.
