INTERNATIONAL MINERS REJECT HODGES
A STORMY MEETING COAL STRIKE AFTERMATH By Cable.- —Press Association. —Copyriybt Reed. 11.35 a.m. PARIS, Monday. Following the seven hours’ stormy meeting of the International Miners' Federate t, Mr. Frank Hodges resigned the secretaryship. He was subjected to bitter criticism, particularly by Mr. A. J. Cook, the British miners’ secretary, and Mr. Herbert Smith, the miners’ president, concerning his speeches and actions during the General Strike and coal lock-out. The resignation technically was due to Mr. Hodges's acceptance of a position on the Government Electricity Commission. —A. and N.Z.
