140TH CONVICTION
DANIEL SOUTH’S RECORD Daniel South is well known at court —that is to say, the Police Court. This morning, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., recorded his 140th conviction. Having drunk as much as his pocket, capacity, and time would allow on Saturday afternoon, he was standing outside a well-known Queen Street hotel just after 6 p.m., commenting on things in general in language that, to say the least of it, was ungentlemanly. For being drunk he was fined ss, but for using obscene language he was fined £3, in default 14 days.
