GAS EXPLOSION

MAN INJURED FREEMAN’S BAY MISHAP A married man, William Farsyth, aged 26, of 44 Franklin Road, Ponsonby, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, shortly after midnight suffering from injuries to his head and face. Mr. Farsyth. who is employed by Mason Bros, as a nightwatchman at their works at Freeman’s Bay, was filling a generator used in connection with the welding plant, when some acetylene gas escaped and exploded, severely burning his head and face. The injured man was taken to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance. His condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory. ,
