SCULLING

WEST END CLUB ANE of the best double sculls events seen in Auckland for some ±llll6 was decided at the West End Club’s long course at the week-end. The event was the final of the double sculls for the trophies presented by Mr. H. J. Schmidt. The finalists were:—A. C. Norden (stroke), L. R. McDonald (bow), M. McCarthy (cox); and R. Snowden (stroke), J. Stratton (bow) and G. A. Dowling (cox). Snowden's boat won by four lengths after a good contest.
