The present Government MeteoroloA Mr r>. C. Bates, has been appointed Government Climatologist. The new director of meteorology, Dr. E Kldson. will take up his duties In August. - Among the passengers who left by the Limited express for the South last were the Hon. G. Fowlds, ProSSor W. JUddet. Mr. T. U. Wells, and Mr H M O’Shea, who arc to attend the meeting of the Agricultural ColCouncil which is being held at Palmerston North.
