WAGES IN DOMINION

INQUIRY ASKED FOR Press Association. WELLINGTON, Saturday. The following resolution was passed at the annual meeting of the Royal Agricultural Society last evening: “That this conference strongly supports the suggestion of the Hon. W. Downie Stewart regarding the necessity of a committee of inquiry being set up immediately to inquire into the wages system of the Dominion, the working of the Arbitration Court and the effects of its working upon production.” The conference also expressed itself in favour of the repeal of the Arbitration Act.
