DEATH AT PUKEKOHE

PUKEKOHE, To-day. There passed away at a private hospital on Friday evening a well-known resident of Pukekohe in the person of Mr. John Joseph Coady, aged 4S years. He was taken ill suddenly on Wednesday and was removed to the hospital on* Friday, dying before an operation could be performed. Deceased, who was a native of Australia, has been the owner of the Strand pictures at various times during the past fifteen years, and was well-known in theatrical circles. He took a keen interest in local affairs and last month contested a seat on the borough council without success. He was an executive officer of the White New Zealand League, and of the local Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by a wife and two children. The interment took place yesterday and the cortege was one of the largest seen in this district.
