RUAHINE HOME. —Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the liner Rualiine arrived at Southampton on May 28. The vessel loaded in New Zealand and sailed from Wellington on April 23. HOMEWARD BOUND. —The New Zealand Shipping Company are in receipt of advice that the steamer Ruapehu, which loaded in New Zealand for Liverpool and London, and sailed from Wellington on May 2, continued her voyage from Colori on May 25. POOLTA FROM AUSTRAL!A— The Union Company advises that the Poolta sailed from Sydney on Saturday last for Auckland, Gisborne, and Napier. She is due here on Friday. mataroa sails Saturday! — At present completing her loading at Wellington the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mataroa is scheduled to leave at daylight on Saturday next for Southampton and London, via Panama.
RARANGA DELAYED.— -O wing to wet weather the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Raranga was delayed at Wellington and now leaves to-night for London, via Falkland Island, Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro. TONGARIRO TO COMPLETE— Tike N.Z. Shipping Company advises that the steamer Tongariro leaves Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington, where she completes loading and finally departs on June 2 for London, via Panama.
ADMIRAL CODRINGTON.- The Admiral Codrington, 6,629 tons gross, 4,139 tons net, able to carry about 9,600 tons dead-weight, and owned by the Poverty Bay Farmers’ Meat Co., Ltd., has been sold to -Mr. Neil Alexander Mackinnon, of Glasgow, and renamed the Balgowan. MARYLAND REPORTED. Robert Millar and Co. have received a cable message stating that the Maryland is due in the pilot ground at daybreak on Wednesday. KARTIG! LEAVES LAUTOKA.— En route from Sydney and Suva, the Union Company advises that the Kartigi left Lautoka at G a.m. on Saturday last for Auckland, where she is due on Friday. After discharge here she proceeds to Newcastle, where she loads for New Plymouth, Picton and Nelson. PORT AUCKLAND TO LOAD.— Leaving New Plymouth to-night, the C. and D. Line steamer Port Auckland arrives at Auckland on Wednesday to continue loading. She sails again the following evening for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne. Wellington and Wanganui to complete and is scheduled to clear the latter port finally on June 16 for London. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company are the local agents. TAIROA TO LOAD. —To commence Homeward loading, under the auspices of A. S. Paterson and Company, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tairoa arrived at Opua to-day from Townsville. She later proceeds to New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington to complete and sails finally from Wellington on June 18 for London, via Montevideo and Teneriffe.
DIOMEDE AND VERONICA.— H.M.S. Diomede left port this morning for the Hauraki Gulf to resume torpedo and gunnery exercises, which were interrupted by the stormy weather. H.M.S. Veronica is to sail to-mor-row morning for a five months’ cruise to the South Sea Islands. The first port of call will be Tonga. MOERAKI AT MELBOURNE. —The Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Moeraki, which arrived at Melbourne from Bluff this morning, is to sail for Wellington, via Bluff, Dunedin and Lyttelton next Wednesday. She is due at Wellington on June 11, and is scheduled to sail the following day for Melbourne direct.
ANTONIO RADIOS. —The New j Egypt and Levant Shipping Company’s j steamer, Antonio, en route from Texas ! to Auckland, has radioed stating that i she will arrive here on Thursday next. I June 2. The vessel, which left Port j Arthur on April 22, is bringing a full cargo of case oil for discharge at Xew j Zealand and Australian ports. Messrs. 5 Robert Millar and Company, the local i agents, expect to dispatch the Antonio next week in continuation of her voyage to Napier, Wellington, New Plymouth, Beauty Point, Melbourne and Adelaide.
CANADIAN BRITISHER.— The local branch of the Canadian Government Mercantile Marine advises that the Canadian Britisher is to leave Wellington to-night for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday next. The vessel, which has been discharging a cargo from Halifax at Southern ports and loading for the homeward trip, is to complete loading here before being dispatched the same evening for New York, Boston and Montreal.
CANOPUS'S ROUGH VOYAGE.— The Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus arrived at Auckland on Saturday aftffer a very rough trip. Leaving the South Island port on Tuesday last, the vessel encountered strong northerly gales off Cape Egmont and was forced to turn back and make her way through Cook Strait and up the Hast Coast, instead of on the usual course via Cape l Maria van Dieman. All went well till she rounded the East Cape on Thursday and fell in with the northerly gale again. On Friday when the rain fell in a torrential downpour, the steamer was hove to for 12 hours as all landmarks were obliterated. The weather cleared on Saturday morning and allowed the Canopus to continue on her way. She arrived in port the same afternoon almost two days behind scheduled time.
FRUIT STEAMER ARRIVES.— From her first voyage as a fruit steamer the Union Company’s vessel Waipahi arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Cook Islands and berthed at Queen’s Wharf. After being specially fitted for the Eastern Pacific fruit trade the vessel left Auckland on May 10. Strong south-west gales and high seas were experienced all the way to Rarotonga, which was reached on May 10. She discharged general cargo and then went to Mangaia and Aitutaki, where she completed discharge and also loaded fruit. Afterwards she returned to Rarotonga for more fruit and sailed on May 22 for Auckland. Strong southerly winds during the first day from port were followed next day by an easterly gale and high seas. Last Thursday the wind changed to the north-east and continued to blo\v with gale force until Friday morning, when the wind suddenly shifted to the west. An hour later the wind dropped and fine weather afterwards prevailed -to port. After unloading her cargo of 7,500 cases of fruit and a quantity of copra the Waipahi will load again for the Cook Islands. She is scheduled to sail on Thursday, for I-laratonga, Mangaia, Atiu and Aitutaki, but not Mauke as was formerly intended.

TO-DAY’S ARRIVAL NGATIAWA (7 a.m.), 451 tons, Pert, from Hokianga. The Rarawa was to sail at 4 p.m. today for New Plymouth and is expected back at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Ngatiawa arrived this morning from Hokianga and is scheduled to sail at 4 o’clock this afternoon for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads. The Arapawa left on Saturday for Wanganui. From there she goes to Westport to load, coal for Onehunga, and is expected back about Friday next
