TIME IS ON THE WING SELECTING “MISS NEW ZEALAND 1927” Auckland Photographs Sought THE earlier that entries for the “Miss New Zealand 1927” contest are received by THE SUN the better. “I have been trying: to make up my mind for weeks,’’ said one Auckland aspirant as she handed in her photograph on Saturday. If she had tarried much longer she would have been too late. The “Miss New Zealand 1927” offer cannot be extended indefinitely. Girls simply must make up their minds The competition will close within a month. Remember, we want your photograph at once. The sooner it is received the greater are the chances that you will be selected as a semi-finalist. Do not hesitate! You must know that never has a similar offer been made to a New Zealand girl. Think of it—a trip to Hollywood and back, a definite engagement ahead, and no less a sum than £9OO in prizes!

In conjunction with Fuller-Ilay-ward, J. C. Williamson, and Associated Theatres, THE 3UN and other journals are conducting a competition to search for the most suitable girl to represent New Zealand in a moving picture studio. Kvery centre in the Dominion is entering upon the same quest, and the rich reward will be keenly contested, for who can tell which town will have the honour of sending “Miss New Zealand 1927“ to the top of the poll?

ENTRY FORMS AVAILABLE Entry forms are available at THE SUN Office on application. The duration of the "Miss New Zealand 1927” competition is limited to a few weeks. There is every indication that the competition will be one of the moat eagerly contested. THE SUN has already received numbers of photographs. We want them in as quickly as possible. Everyone should enter into the spirit of this great adventure. Photographs of approved candidates will be taken free of charge by the Bell Studio, Karangahape Road. Additional photos of contestants appear In this Issue. Others will appear during the competition, and each will have a distinguishing number. Application forms are obtainable at THE SUN Office, and at the Regent, Majestic and Strand Theatres.

HOW TO VOTE The girl who heads the poll each week as the choice of THE SUN' readers. becomes a semi-finalist, and will be eligible to compete in the final. Voting this week is confined to numbers 1 to 60, whose pictures have been published in THE SUN. The weekly poll closes on Fridays at 9 p.rn., and the result will be announced on Saturday. Next week’s vote will be taken on all the competitors left in with the addition of those whose pictures are published this week. In all cases the voting coupon published below must be used or a prepaid subscription to THE SUN for a term substituted for the coupon. Any person desiring to cast a number of votes may do so on the following basis:

Votes. 3 months subscnption, 9/9 75 6 months subscription, 19/6 150 12 mpnths subscription, 39/- 300 On receipt of a prepaid subscription for delivery of THE SUN daily, together with an intimation as to which candidate the subscriber desires to vote for, the Publisher will credit the votes accordingly and arrange for the delivery of THE SUN to the subscriber’s address.
