INCREASE FOR WEEK A net increase of 48 registrations this week over the figures for the preceding period is recorded at ihe Auckland Labour Bureau. Applications for heavy work totalled 497, as compared with 484 last week, while 159 men sought employment of a light nature, against 157. During the week 37 men were placed in employment, whereas 70 found a job in the seven days ending May 21. Taken os a whole, the x-eturns supplied by the Department of Labour in Auckland for the last three months have fluctuated between a total of COO to 65( on the books weekly.
