A NOVEL SUGGESTION
With the of encouraging the export of beef, Mr. A. E. Harding suggested to the Farmers’ Union Conference this week that there should be a tax on every beast killed in New Zealand, which should be laid aside and used at the end of the season to encourage the men who exported beef. No action was taken, but he asked the farmers to think the matter over.
