DOBSON MINE TRAGEDY
INQUEST ON VICTIM CAUSE NOT REVEALED Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Friday. At inquest concerning the death of s « miners in the Hobson mine explosion opened this morning. Technical evidence was reserved for the Government inquiry. It was stated that after the water was pumped from the mine the end of a burned candle was found in the workings near where two bodies were jound. There was nothing to prove that the candle had been lit recently, no wick was left. The candle may have been left in the main drive a year 'go v/hen it was formed and been vashed further in the mine by the hooding operations. f kvidencc was given that sparks were gently struck from incline rails by being derailed.
