Mr C. H. Dickinson, who has been , charge of Charles Haines Advertising Agency in Auckland for the last five years, has now been appointed a director of the company.
At the annual general meeting of the Northern Club, held on Thursday last" Mr. H. O. Nolan was re-elected ‘resident, and Mr. Carrick Robertson was elected vice-president. Mr. r!iT. Boyd, chief postmaster, Hamilton, who has been absent on a c k leave for some months, will return to his duties on Wednesday. Mr. \ Shelton, of Wellington, who has heen acting-postmaster at Hamilton, Will then leave for Blenheim.
Mr. A. J- H. Benge has been apuoint'ed secretary of the Department of Education. Mr. Benge will be succeeded as officer in charge of the examinations branch by Mr. H. V. Croxton, of the Native Schools branch. Mr. Benge joined the department as a clerical cadet in 1901. after securing a scholarship at the Auckland Grammar School. He took his B.A. degree at Victoria College in 1912. and in the following year he was appointed secretary to the public Service Commissioner. Later he returned to the department.
