TOWN HALL

MUNICIPAL CONCERTS Music of rare quality will be offered by the Municipal Band in the Town Hall to-night. The outstanding number is Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, and this will be the band’s third performance of this wonderful music. Other numbers are Mendelssohn’s descriptive overture, “A Calm Sea and a Prosperous Voyage,” Rim-sky-Korsakoff’s 'Scheherazade” (part 3), and Glinka’s “Komarinskaja.” The Lyric Four will contribute popular vocal and elocutionary items. Seats can be booked at the Town Hall. ORGAN RECITAL A varied programme arranged for the organ recital to-morrow (Sunday) evening in the Town Hall will consist of noted organ works by Widor. Smart and Bach, and transcriptions by Mr. Maughan Barnett, of two pianoforte pieces by Sgambati, the Italian pianist and conductor.
