INSTEAD OF SUICIDE "I feel fine, Sir —quite a different man,” said a man of 34, *vho appeared in the Police Court- tnis rt orning, after a week’s remand, charged with attempting to commit suicide. “He hadn’t been sleeping, and was worrying about a domestic matter,” explained Senior-Sergeant Edwards. “He has bad eyes, for which he had some drops which were poisonous. He took these drops.” “When you feel like doing that again, go and get a good meal, and then you won’t," was tne magistrate’s advice, as he convicted the man and ordered him to come up for sentence if called on.
The man’s mother undertook to look after him.
